❖ Question

One of our friends’ cow miscarried two months before completing the term. Can its milk now be consumed?

❖ Answer

Al-ḥamdu lillāh, waṣ-ṣalātu was-salāmu ʿalā Rasūlillāh, Ammā Baʿd!

Yes, in such a situation it is permissible to drink the milk of the cow.

Qur’ānic Evidence:
Allah Almighty says:

— Sūrat al-Naḥl, Āyah 66

“And indeed, for you in the grazing livestock is a lesson: We give you drink from what is in their bellies—between excretion and blood—pure milk, palatable to those who drink it.”

❖ Conclusion

Therefore, even after miscarriage, if the cow produces milk, it remains pure and permissible for consumption.
