❀ Question

What type of image printing is considered permissible or impermissible in Islam?

✔ Response

الحمد لله، والصلاة والسلام علىٰ رسول الله، أما بعد:

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:

{إِنَّ أَشَدَّ النَّاسِ عَذَابًا عِندَ اللَّهِ الْمُصَوِّرُونَ}
“Indeed, the people who will receive the severest punishment with Allah are the image-makers.”
(Sahih al-Bukhari, Volume 2, Book of Clothing, Chapter: The Punishment for Image-Makers, Page 880)

✿ Ruling:

It is not permissible in Shari‘ah to draw, publish, or print images of any living being (possessing a soul) — whether human or animal.

Such acts fall under the category of image-making (tasweer), which has been clearly and strictly prohibited in authentic Hadith.

هٰذَا مَا عِندِي وَاللّٰهُ أَعْلَمُ بِالصَّوَابِ
This is what I know; and Allah knows best what is correct.
