Sharīʿah Ruling on Dog Fighting and Its Earnings

The Question
What is the ruling of Islam regarding those who arrange dog fights? And what is the status of the income earned from such activity?
The Answer
Al-ḥamdu lillāh, waṣ-ṣalātu was-salāmu ʿalā Rasūlillāh, ammā baʿd:
◈ A person who engages in dog fighting is regarded as a fāsiq (open sinner).
◈ The income generated from this practice is ḥarām (forbidden).
◈ Such earnings fall under the category of kāsb al-ḥarām (illegitimate livelihood).
Conclusion
✔ Dog fighting is a sinful activity.
✔ Any money earned through it is unlawful and impermissible for consumption.
