We use newspapers and magazines that contain sacred verses and the Names of Allah, and then we throw them into the trash. Is this permissible?
Any item containing Qur’anic verses or noble Hadiths must not be discarded in disrespectful places. This is because the Speech of Allah is exalted, and honoring it is obligatory.
It is for this reason that:
✔ A ritually impure (junub) person is not allowed to recite the Qur’an.
✔ According to many, even a person without wudu should not touch the Qur’an.
Hence, newspapers and magazines containing sacred texts must be:
① Completely burned,
or
② Destroyed using modern methods in such a way that no trace of the sacred content remains.
This is the proper way to maintain the sanctity of Qur’anic verses and the Names of Allah.
