Where does Shayṭān sit?
Abū ʿIyāḍ (رحمه الله) narrates from a Companion (رضي الله عنه):
"The Prophet (ﷺ) forbade a man from sitting in a place where part of it is in the sun and part of it is in the shade. He (ﷺ) said: This is the sitting place of Shayṭān."
[Musnad Aḥmad: 3/414, Sunan al-Kubrā by al-Bayhaqī: 3/236]
That is, one should not sit in a place where there is both sun and shade, as such a spot is described by the Prophet (ﷺ) as being the sitting place of Shayṭān.
