It Is Not a Condition for Female Slaves to Be Muslim for Lawful Intercourse
✍ By: Imran Ayoob Lahori
The permissibility of intercourse with a female slave is not dependent on her being Muslim.
The Prophet ﷺ only mentioned waiting until childbirth or one menstrual cycle (ʿiddat al-istibraʾ) before lawful intimacy.
If Islam had been a necessary condition, the Prophet ﷺ would have stated it clearly. Since he did not, delaying such clarification beyond the time of need would have been impermissible.
Therefore, it is established that embracing Islam is not a prerequisite for intercourse with a female slave.
