It is narrated by Muʿādh ibn Jabal رضي الله عنه from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ:
"إِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ ذِئْبُ الْإِنْسَانِ كَذِئْبِ الْغَنَمِ، يَأْخُذُ الشَّاةَ الْقَاصِيَةَ وَالنَّاجِيَةَ، وَإِيَّاكُمْ وَالشِّعَابَ، وَعَلَيْكُمْ بِالْجَمَاعَةِ وَالْعَامَّةِ"
[Musnad Aḥmad, 5/232]
"Indeed, Satan is a wolf to man, just as a wolf is to sheep. He seizes the isolated and stray sheep. So avoid breaking into groups and adhere to the congregation and the majority."
