What is the ruling on raising the hands during Du‘ā’ in Witr prayer?
Raising the hands during Du‘ā’ al-Qunūt in Witr is legislated (Mashrū‘).
This is because Du‘ā’ al-Qunūt in Witr falls under the same category as Qunūt during times of calamity (Qunūt al-Nāzilah).
The Prophet ﷺ used to raise his hands while making Du‘ā’ during Qunūt al-Nāzilah, as authentically reported:
[Narrated by al-Bayhaqī with a sound chain of narration]
