Is it permissible for a woman to apply makeup?
الحمد لله، والصلاة والسلام علىٰ رسول الله، أما بعد:
◈ A woman may apply makeup for her husband.
◈ However, it is not permissible for her to wear makeup when going to the mosque, market, or any public place.
This ruling is based on the Islamic principle of modesty and concealment (ḥayāʼ and ḥijāb) for women.
هٰذَا مَا عِندِي وَاللّٰهُ أَعْلَمُ بِالصَّوَابِ
This is what I know; and Allah knows best what is correct.
