What is the Islamic ruling on marrying the wife of one’s biological (ṣulbī) son?
It is not permissible to marry the divorced or widowed wife of one's biological son.
This is considered among the eternally prohibited relationships (muḥarramāt abadiyyah).
﴿وَحَلَائِلُ أَبْنَائِكُمُ﴾
“…And the wives of your sons (are forbidden to you in marriage)…”
(Sūrah al-Nisāʾ, 4:23)
This verse establishes that the wives of one’s biological sons are permanently forbidden for the father to marry — whether the marriage ended through divorce or death.
◈ A man can never marry the wife of his real (blood-related) son,
regardless of whether the son is alive or deceased, or whether she is divorced or widowed.
◈ This prohibition is absolute and permanent, and it is based on clear Qur'anic text.
