Ruling on Keeping a Clod of Soil Inside the Mosque for Tayammum

Is it permissible to keep a clod of soil inside the mosque for the purpose of performing Tayammum, or must it necessarily be kept outside the mosque? Kindly respond in light of Hadith.
Al-ḥamdu lillāh, waṣ-ṣalātu was-salāmu ʿalā Rasūlillāh, ʾammā baʿd:
If a pure clod of soil is kept inside the mosque, then there is no harm in using it for Tayammum. There is no clear evidence known to me that prohibits this practice. However, it is preferable that the soil for Tayammum also be kept outside the mosque.
