Is It Permissible to Delay Ghusl (Purification Bath) Until After Fajr?

Question:

Is it permissible to delay Ghusl Janabah (ritual purification bath after sexual impurity) until after Fajr? Also, is it allowed for women to delay Ghusl Haid (purification bath after menstruation) or Ghusl Nifas (purification bath after postpartum bleeding) until after Fajr?

Answer:

If a woman becomes pure (attains Taharah) from menstruation or postpartum bleeding before Fajr, she is obligated to fast on that day. However, delaying Ghusl (purification bath) until after Fajr does not invalidate the fast.

There is no harm in delaying Ghusl Janabah, Ghusl Haid, or Ghusl Nifas beyond Fajr, but it is not permissible to delay it beyond sunrise. It is obligatory to perform Ghusl before sunrise so that Fajr prayer can be performed on time.

Similarly, for a person in Janabah (major impurity), delaying Ghusl beyond sunrise is not allowed. One must purify themselves and perform Fajr prayer before sunrise. For men, it is even more necessary to take Ghusl early so that they can offer Fajr prayer in congregation.
