Question:
Is breastfeeding alone sufficient to establish suckling?
Answer:
Breastfeeding alone does not establish suckling. For the prohibition of suckling, it is necessary to drink milk at least five times during the period of suckling.
❀ Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said:
لا تحرم المصة ولا المصتان
"Drinking milk once or twice does not establish suckling."
