"I was with the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) when two men were exchanging insults. One of them turned red-faced, and the veins in his neck swelled. The Prophet (ﷺ) said:
‘I know a statement which, if he says it, what he feels will disappear. If he says, A‘udhu Billahi Minash-Shaytanir-Rajim (I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Satan), what he feels will vanish.’
The people told him, ‘The Prophet (ﷺ) has said: Seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Satan.’”
(Sahih al-Bukhari, Hadith No. 5764 | Sahih Muslim, Hadith No. 2610)
"Indeed, anger is from Satan, and Satan was created from fire. Fire is extinguished by water, so if anyone of you gets angry, he should perform ablution (wudu)."
(Da‘if. Sunan Abi Dawood, Hadith No. 4784)
This highlights that anger is closely linked to Satan’s influence, and seeking refuge in Allah along with performing wudu can help calm one's temper and prevent Satan’s interference.
