❖ Question:
Who is Murtaza Bin Bakhsh, and what are his beliefs and methodology?
❖ Answer by: Fadhilat al-‘Alim Khizr Hayat (حفظه الله)
Murtaza Bin Bakhsh is known as an Urdu-speaking preacher. To the best of our knowledge, he is not a graduate of any recognized Islamic seminary, nor is there any known association of his with any renowned scholar or institution from the Indian Subcontinent.
However, based on his speeches and public addresses, he appears to be inclined towards the Ahl al-Hadith and Ahl al-Tawheed schools of thought.
Nonetheless, due to his statements against several prominent scholars of the subcontinent such as:
◈ Fadhilat al-Sheikh Abdullah Nasir Rehmani (حفظه الله)
◈ Fadhilat al-Sheikh Mubashir Rabbani (حفظه الله)
—it seems that he follows the Madkhali school of thought and evaluates other scholars based on this particular ideology.
This assessment is further reinforced by the fact that Murtaza Bin Bakhsh has received a recommendation (tazkiyah) from Fadhilat al-Sheikh Ubayd al-Jabiri (رحمه الله), who is regarded as one of the leading scholars of the Madkhali methodology.
