Fatwa by: Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia, Sheikh Ibn Jibreen (may Allah protect him)
Question:
Is it permissible to maintain contact with non-Muslims such as Christians, Hindus, etc., and to share meals, engage in conversation, and exhibit good relations in order to invite them to Islam?
Answer:
It is permissible to interact with disbelievers and non-Muslims, to sit with them, and to show kindness and goodwill for the purpose of inviting them to Allah, explaining Islamic teachings, encouraging them to adopt the religion of truth, and discussing the good outcomes for the pious and the punishments for the disbelievers. Since the ultimate goal is good, expressing companionship and friendliness in this context is excusable.
