✦ Insults Against the Prophet ﷺ on Social Media: A Harsh Reality
Authored by: Hāmid Kamāl al-DīnOn various social media platforms, certain atheists have been seen posting blasphemous content against the Noble Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, including offensive poetry and indecent language that deeply inflames the emotions of believers. These individuals fail to realize that their despicable actions cannot diminish the sublime honor of the Prophet ﷺ; rather, they only tarnish their own character. The greatness of the Prophet ﷺ continues to rise with every passing day.
❖ Western Media’s Offensive Acts and Their Unexpected Impact
A few years ago, when Western media published blasphemous caricatures and produced provocative films targeting the Prophet ﷺ, it ironically resulted in a surge of interest in his life among non-Muslims. Books on his biography sold in large numbers, and Islamic centers became gathering spots for those seeking knowledge about him. This moment called for Muslims to re-present the Prophet’s ﷺ life — both intellectually and practically — in a more profound and meaningful way.✿ The Need for Contemporary Biographical Literature
That era revealed a gap in modern Seerah literature, leading to a growing movement for its development. The status of the Prophet ﷺ and the message of Islam became topics of discussion even among the educated classes in the non-Muslim world. Consequently, Muslims found themselves rediscovering their connection with the Prophet ﷺ.◈ Renewal of Devotion Among Believers
This crisis ignited a renewed passion among Muslims for their beloved Prophet ﷺ. The enemy witnessed a vibrancy in the Muslim Ummah that was absent in their own nations. Through this experience, Muslims gained a practical lesson in loyalty and enmity for the sake of Allah and His Messenger ﷺ. A new journey began — one towards self-sufficiency and spiritual resilience, and we pray that this journey continues.✔ Speaking in Defense of the Messenger ﷺ
To speak in favor of the Prophet ﷺ is an extraordinary honor. Even during his lifetime, when derogatory remarks were made about him, companions would respond on his behalf. Today, it is the duty of this Ummah to protect the honor and dignity of the Messenger ﷺ.❀ The Example of Hassān ibn Thābit رضي الله عنه
Hassān ibn Thābit رضي الله عنه rose to counter the insults of Abu Sufyan and defended the honor of the Prophet ﷺ with poetry. He expected his reward only from Allah:"وَعِندَ اللّٰہِ فِی ذَاکَ الجَزَاء ھَجَوتَ مُحَمَّداً فَاجَبتُ عَنہُ”
"You insulted Muhammad ﷺ, so I responded on his behalf. My reward lies only with Allah, the Lord of the Worlds."
◉ A Mirror for the Blasphemers
Those who spit at the moon only disgrace themselves. These individuals who commit blasphemy should reflect:Is there any comparison between them and the Prophet ﷺ?
The stark contrast itself serves as their answer.
✦ The State of Western Society
Blasphemers must recognize the depravity of the culture they emerge from — a culture where family values are eroded, where half the population does not know their fathers, and where DNA tests are needed to trace lineage. These societies, plagued by anarchy, moral collapse, and destruction, dare to claim moral authority over the Prophet of God ﷺ?◈ In Need of Poets Who Can Respond with Faith
Today, we need poets and writers not just to compose traditional na’ts, but to respond to the heretics of our time with wisdom, courage, and eloquence — and to seek their reward only from Allah.“O Allah, grant our poets and writers a voice filled with faith!”
