Distribution of Inheritance: Wife, Two Sons, and Two Daughters

❖ Question
What do the esteemed scholars say regarding this case: A man named Zaid passed away, leaving the following heirs:
◄ One wife
◄ Two sons
◄ Two daughters
Please clarify how, according to Shariah, the estate of the deceased should be distributed among these heirs.
❖ Answer
Al-ḥamdu lillāh, waṣ-ṣalātu was-salāmu ʿalā Rasūlillāh, Ammā Baʿd!
It should be noted that from the estate of the deceased, first the expenses of funeral and burial and any debts will be settled. After this, the remaining wealth will be divided among the heirs.
▣ Division in the Old System (Ānā & Pāi)
If the remaining estate is assumed as one rupee, the division will be as follows:
◄ Wife: 2 ānā
◄ Each son: 4 ānā 8 pāi
◄ Each daughter: 2 ānā 4 pāi
▣ Division in the Modern Decimal System (%)
If the estate is assumed to be 100 rupees, the division will be as follows:
◄ Wife: 1/8 = 12.5 rupees
◄ Two sons (ʿAṣabah): 58.33 rupees
◄ Two daughters (ʿAṣabah): 29.165 rupees
