✿ In Search of Truth: The Creator of the Universe and Human Questions ✿
✍ Written by: Wahiduddin Khan
The universe is spread before us like an expansive and awe-inspiring book — yet neither its subject is inscribed upon it nor the name of its Author.
However, every atom of this universe offers a subtle indication as to Who its Creator might be.
When a human being opens their eyes and reflects upon the universe around them, a natural question arises in the mind:
➤ Who am I?
➤ What is this universe?
These are not merely philosophical inquiries, but a natural consequence of human nature.
Almost every human being, at some point in life, confronts these questions:
① Who is my Creator?
② Who is my object of worship?
③ What will be my end?
This journey of inquiry rests upon three key foundations:
① The Search for the Creator:
➤ Who created the universe?
② The Search for the Object of Worship:
➤ Who is the Being worthy of gratitude and devotion?
③ The Search for One’s Ultimate End:
➤ What happens to me after death?
Throughout human history, various perspectives regarding the Creator have emerged:
➤ Ancient View:
Belief in multiple gods or deities.
➤ Modern Atheistic View:
The universe is viewed as a result of a chance accident or the Law of Causation.
➤ Scientific Acknowledgment:
While science has not identified the Creator, it has exposed the weaknesses of both accidental creation and causation theories.
Within human beings lie two innate urges:
➤ The Feeling of Gratitude:
The yearning to thank the Being who granted life and bestowed countless blessings.
➤ The Need for Support:
A natural desire to seek refuge in a powerful and compassionate Being due to human weakness and helplessness.
Modern civilization attempted to fulfill this instinct through nationhood, homeland, and state — but none of these could satisfy the deeper spiritual longing.
Man always seeks to understand:
➤ Where did I come from?
➤ Where am I going?
➤ Can all my dreams and aspirations be fulfilled in this short worldly life?
Man realizes that this world neither satisfies all his desires nor fulfills his moral and spiritual needs.
Human intellect and nature give rise to numerous questions about the universe.
Yet due to limited faculties, man remains incapable of answering them fully.
His senses, knowledge, and experiences are insufficient to comprehend the vast reality of existence.
In this state of intellectual limitation, the Qur’an — the Word of Allah — explains the truth:
➤ Introduction to the Creator:
There is One God who created and governs the universe.
➤ Purpose of Life:
This worldly life is a test, and true reward and punishment will occur in the Hereafter.
➤ The Qur'an as a Miracle:
The Qur’an is unparalleled in rationality and scientific insight and remains relevant for all eras due to its universal applicability.
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ:
➤ Clarified the truth of the universe.
➤ Exemplified the distinction between truth and falsehood through his life.
➤ Declared the Qur’an to be the Word of God — a truth that still stands unchallenged.
① Intellect (ʿAql):
The structure of the universe and the design of man indicate the existence of One Creator.
② Revelation (Waḥy):
The Qur’an, which presents a complete and comprehensive explanation of life.
③ Practice (ʿAmal):
The practical life of the Prophet ﷺ, which established the principles of Islam on earth.
➤ Majesty of Expression:
Its eloquence, fluency, and certainty bring one closer to the reality.
➤ Free from Contradictions:
There has never been — and never will be — any contradiction in its teachings.
➤ Timelessness:
The Qur’an offers guidance suited to the needs of every era.
This is the clear message of truth conveyed to the world through Muhammad ﷺ.
Now, man has the choice to either accept or reject it.
But the journey in search of truth unmistakably points to the fact that true success lies in adopting these teachings
