This subject rests upon a critical realization: the implementation of Shari'ah is essential for our history, present circumstances, and the survival of our future. Without reflecting upon this need and adopting a clear strategy, we cannot confront the hostile challenges we face today.
For the first time in history, we are facing a situation where efforts are being made to uproot our very existence. Failing to accurately assess these conditions or analyzing them emotionally will only worsen the crisis.
① The foremost demand of Shari'ah is to establish the structure of servitude across every aspect of life.
② The goal is to shape life’s commands and regulations into enduring values.
③ Implementing Shari'ah involves not only accepting the principles of religion but also incorporating them into every sphere of practical life.
✔ Legal commands must be transformed into moral values.
✔ Commands should not be seen merely as external coercion, but as a natural expression of human needs.
✔ Shari'ah should be understood as the tangible form of true servitude to the Creator.
✔ Legal systems must be aligned with the moral objectives of Shari'ah.
✔ If laws are based purely on coercion, they will fail to fulfill the true aims of religion.
✔ Shari'ah can only be implemented effectively when its laws are embraced both intellectually and spiritually by society.
The current methods employed in the name of Shari'ah implementation are problematic in several ways:
✘ Promotion of aggressive emotions.
✘ Representation of religion through underdeveloped intellect.
✘ Neglect of the noble temperament of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.
✔ Gentleness and tenderness are part of the spirit of religion.
✔ Attempts to propagate religion through severity and force contradict its very essence.
For Shari'ah to be effectively implemented, two institutions are indispensable: society and the state.
✔ Society provides acceptance and proliferation for religious values.
✔ The state guarantees the supremacy and protection of religion.
Without the harmony of both, full implementation of Shari'ah remains unattainable.
✔ Democracy is a recognized means of governance, but its ideological weaknesses must be corrected.
✔ While change through democracy is possible, it must be rooted in religious foundations.
✔ Blind reliance on democracy can lead to adverse outcomes.
