How to Expel Satan from Your Home?

Authored by: Dr. Raza Abdullah Pasha (Hafizahullah)

Answer:

1️⃣ Reciting Surah Al-Baqarah in the House

It is narrated from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) that he said:

«لا تجعلوا بيوتكم مقابر إلى الشيطان ينفر من البيت تقرا فيه سورة البقرة»

"Do not turn your houses into graves. Indeed, Satan flees from the house in which Surah Al-Baqarah is recited."

📖 [Sahih Muslim, Hadith No. 780]

This clearly shows that reciting Surah Al-Baqarah in the home keeps Satan away and prevents the house from becoming spiritually empty like a graveyard.

2️⃣ The Virtue of Reciting Surah Al-Baqarah and Aal-e-Imran

It is narrated from Abu Umamah (رضي الله عنه) that he said:
I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) saying:

"Recite the Qur'an, for it will intercede for its people on the Day of Judgment. Recite the two shining ones (Al-Zahrawain), Surah Al-Baqarah and Surah Aal-e-Imran, because they will come on the Day of Judgment like two clouds, or two canopies, or two flocks of birds with outstretched wings, and they will argue on behalf of their reciters. Then he (ﷺ) said: Recite Surah Al-Baqarah, for taking it is a blessing, abandoning it is a regret, and the magicians (batil-practicing people) cannot withstand it."

📖 [Sahih Muslim, Hadith No. 804]

Conclusion:

Reciting Surah Al-Baqarah expels Satan from the house.
Surah Al-Baqarah and Surah Aal-e-Imran will intercede for their reciters on the Day of Judgment.
Reciting Surah Al-Baqarah brings blessings, while abandoning it leads to loss and regret.
Satan and magicians cannot withstand the power of Surah Al-Baqarah.
