How Shaytan Misleads Humans
Allah Almighty states:
"Indeed, those among you who turned back on the day the two armies met, it was Shaytan who caused them to slip because of some of what they had earned. But Allah has already forgiven them. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Forbearing."
(Surah Aal-e-Imran: 155)
The phrase "بِبَعْضِ مَا كَسَبُوا" refers to some of their previous sins. As some scholars have explained, the consequence of a bad deed is often followed by another bad deed.
The verse continues:
"وَلَقَدْ عَفَا اللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ"
This means that Allah forgave those individuals who fled during the battle.
Furthermore, the statement:
"إِنَّ اللَّهَ غَفُورٌ حَلِيمٌ"
emphasizes that Allah pardons sins and deals with His creation with patience. He overlooks their errors and forgives them.
This highlights Allah’s infinite mercy and His willingness to forgive His servants, despite their shortcomings, as long as they seek His forgiveness and strive to improve.
