How is it to taste food to know its cooking state?

Is it permissible for the cook to taste the food to check its state while in a state of fasting?
Fatwa:.
There is no harm for the cook to taste the food with the tip of his tongue to determine sweetness, saltiness, or other flavors, but he should not let anything go down his throat; rather, he should spit out what he has tasted and rinse his mouth. In this way, his fast will not be harmed.
