Hair Dye and Wudu | Does Hair Color Prevent Ablution?

❖ Question
Nowadays, hair dyes available in the market are commonly used. Some people claim that they form a layer similar to nail polish, which prevents wudu. What is the ruling on this?
❖ Answer
Al-ḥamdu lillāh, waṣ-ṣalātu wa-s-salāmu ʿalā Rasūlillāh, Ammā Baʿd!
◄ If the hair dye indeed forms a layer on the hair similar to nail polish, then wudu will not be valid with it.
◄ However, if it does not create such a layer but only leaves a color like henna, then it does not affect the validity of wudu.
