There is also the possibility that the goods being purchased could be of lower quality or higher price, but the gift could influence the lawyer’s decision. As a result, the lawyer may avoid seeking other sellers and choose to only deal with the one who gave the gift.
On the other hand, if a person purchases something for himself and later resells it to others, and the original seller gives him a gift, then there is no harm in this.
