❖ Question 1:

Is it Sunnah to form three rows in Salāt al-Janāzah (Funeral Prayer)?

Answer by Shaykh Saʿīd Mujtabā Saʿīdī ḥafiẓahullāh:
There is no fixed number of rows prescribed in the Funeral Prayer. Whether there are three rows, fewer, or more, it depends on circumstances.
There is no binding Sharʿī requirement for the number of rows.

❖ Question 2:

If a person wears socks after performing wudūʾ and then wears another pair of socks over them without breaking the wudūʾ, can he do masḥ (wiping) on the outer socks?

Answer:
Yes, if the first pair of socks was worn in the state of wudūʾ, then masḥ is permissible on the outer pair worn afterward.

❖ Question 3:

Is the story about Prophet Sulaymān (ʿalayhis-salām) and a fish eating all the food authentic?

Answer:
No, this story is fabricated and has no authentic reference. It is considered a baseless narrative.

❖ Question 4:

What is the Sharʿī ruling on voting?

Answer:
Voting has no specific fixed ruling in Sharīʿah.
Its permissibility or impermissibility depends on intention and context.
Different fuqahāʾ (jurists) have expressed varied opinions based on circumstances.

❖ Summary:

✔ There is no fixed rule for rows in the Funeral Prayer.
Masḥ is valid on outer socks if the inner ones were worn in wudūʾ.
✘ The fish story about Prophet Sulaymān (AS) is inauthentic.
Voting is a contextual issue, not inherently ḥarām or farḍ—its ruling depends on intention and setting.
