From What Did Allah Create Water?
✍ Written by: Qārī Usāmah bin ‘Abd al-Salām
This is a very beautiful and thought-provoking question:
"From what did Allah create water?"
Let us answer this in the light of the Qur’an, science, and reason.
First Principle: Allah Created Everything from Nothing

وَخَلَقَ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ فَقَدَّرَهُ تَقْدِيرًا
(الفرقان: 2)
"And He created everything and determined it with precise determination."
Meaning:
Allah created all things anew, without any pre-existing material.
From What Did Allah Create Water?

وَجَعَلْنَا مِنَ الْمَاءِ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ حَيٍّ
(الأنبياء: 30)
"And We made from water every living thing."

- Water is the fundamental element of life.
- But the Qur’an does not specify from what water was made.
- It only tells us that Allah Himself created it.
In the Light of Science
According to science:
Water = 2 Hydrogen atoms + 1 Oxygen atom → H₂O
That means Allah created:
➊ Hydrogen
➋ Oxygen
➌ Then combined them in a precise ratio to form water.

This is where science halts, saying:
"The initial matter must have appeared by itself."

اللَّهُ خَالِقُ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ
(الزمر: 62)
"Allah is the Creator of everything."
