Envying Believers
Ḥadīth 41
Majma‘ al-Zawā’id, Bāb Mā Jā’a fī al-Ghībah wa al-Namīmah, ḥadīth no: 13126
Narrated by Abdullah ibn Busr (RA): The Prophet ﷺ said:
“He who harbors envy, engages in tale-carrying, or practices soothsaying is not from me, nor am I from him.”
Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited this verse:
Translation: “And those who harm believing men and believing women for what they did not earn have certainly borne upon themselves a slander and manifest sin.”
