Fever Seeks Permission from the Prophet ﷺ

Authored by: Hafiz Muhammad Anwar Zahid (May Allah Preserve Him)

Narration:

Abu Uthman Nahdi narrates from Sayyiduna Salman Al-Farsi (RA) that fever sought permission from the Prophet ﷺ. The Prophet ﷺ asked, "Who are you?" It replied, "My name is Fever. I weaken the body and consume its blood." The Prophet ﷺ said, "Go to the people of Quba." Fever then afflicted the people of Quba, and they came to the Prophet ﷺ with pale faces, complaining of their condition. The Prophet ﷺ said, "If you wish, I can make dua to Allah to remove the fever, or if you prefer, you can remain patient, and Allah will forgive your sins in return." They replied, "We will remain patient."
