Author: Fazeelat al-Sheikh Hafiz Zubair Ali Zai (may Allah have mercy on him)
❀ The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:
"Whoever attributes something to me that I did not say, let him prepare his seat in the Fire."
[Sahih Bukhari: 109]
❀ The Prophet (peace be upon him) also said:
"Whoever lies about me intentionally, let him prepare his seat in the Fire."
[Sahih Bukhari: 110 and Sahih Muslim: 3]
Despite these severe warnings, many people, without any fear, continue to fabricate lies about the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), seemingly oblivious to Allah's punishment.
Hafiz Ibn Hazm Andalusi (died 456 AH) writes:
"The fabrication of Hadith will continue as long as Iblis and his followers exist on earth."
[Al-Muhalla 13/9, Issue: 1514]
When I learned that the Barelvis claimed to have discovered a unique version of Musannaf Abdur Razzaq and presented it as "Noor-e-Hadith," I wrote a research article in response to a query. In that article, I discussed the conditions for deriving evidence from handwritten and printed books and mentioned two fabricated books. To our knowledge, no response was received from any quarters. Later, when a fabricated manuscript named "Al-Juz' Al-Mafqud min Al-Juz' Al-Awwal min Al-Musannaf" was found with the Barelvis, I wrote a detailed and reasoned refutation, which was published in the monthly magazine "Al-Hadith" [23, pages 22-25].
Now, through Muhammad Zubair from Sadiqabad (Punjab) and Hafiz Sanaullah Al-Zahdi (may Allah protect him), I learned that a detailed refutation of this fabricated book has been written and posted on the internet. This refutation was authored by the young scholar from the Arabian Peninsula, Muhammad Ziyad bin Umar Al-Taklah, and titled "Defending the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and his Purified Sunnah, and Exposing the Fraud of Isa Al-Himyari and Mahmoud Saeed Mamdouh in Fabricating Hadith" and "Refuting the Fabricated Piece Attributed to Musannaf Abdur Razzaq." It was published on 13th Muharram 1427 AH in 34 pages on the internet.
Here are some key points from this refutation:
Major scholars from the Arabian Peninsula such as Sheikh Saad Al-Humaid, Sheikh Khalid Al-Drees, and Sheikh Ahmad Ashour state that this "Al-Juz' Al-Mafqud" is entirely fabricated.
[See page 3]
Isa bin Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Mani' Al-Himyari is a Jahmi Quburi (grave worshiper) and fabricator. He wrote a book titled "Al-Bid'ah Asl min Usul Al-Tashri'" (Innovation is a fundamental principle of Shariah), indicating his belief in Bid'ah as a principle of Shariah.
[See page 5]
Sheikh Adeeb Al-Kamdani from Dubai, an expert in Hadith and manuscripts, stated that when he saw the "manuscript" with Isa Al-Himyari, he said:
"It is very recently fabricated based on its paper and handwriting."
[Page 7]
Sheikh Adeeb Al-Kamdani said:
"I do not give this manuscript an age of more than two years or so."
[Page 7]
Sheikh Muhammad Ziyad said:
"Sheikh Kamdani informed that he saw it written on new paper with fresh handwriting! When its fabricator, an Indian (Pakistani), was asked for the original manuscript, he said he copied it from a library in the Soviet Union, which has since burned down! Thus, the manuscript was essentially nullified, and it became clear that it was a lie that this manuscript was written in 933 in Baghdad."
[Page 13]
The handwriting of the manuscript is not from the 10th century AH but is a contemporary handwriting written by someone from our era.
[Page 12]
Sheikh Abdul Quddus Nazir Al-Hindi testified that this handwriting is from a contemporary person in Pakistan or India. The same was stated by Sheikh Omar bin Suleiman Al-Hafi, who holds a master's degree in manuscripts from Egypt.
[Page 12]
Isa Al-Himyari's claim that his (fabricated) manuscript is highly authentic is completely false. The first Hadith in this (fabricated) manuscript incorrectly mentions the companion Saib bin Yazid (may Allah be pleased with him) as Saib bin Zaid.
[Page 13]
[See Al-Juz' Al-Mafqud: page 52, Hadith: 1]
The fabricated "Musannaf" starts with the chapter "Kitab Al-Iman," whereas Haji Khalifa Chelebi (Hanafi) wrote:
"(This Musannaf) is arranged according to books and chapters based on Fiqh."
[Kashf Al-Zunun, vol. 2, page 1712]
Ibn Khair Al-Ishbili wrote in his book "Fahrist" [page 129] that Musannaf Abdur Razzaq begins with the "Book of Taharah."
[Al-Radd ala "Al-Juz' Al-Mafqud", page 16]
This fake "Musannaf" contains Arabic constructions in the style of non-Arabs, for example:
[Al-Juz' Al-Mafqud: page 11, Al-Radd, page 21]
Maqmud Saeed Mamdouh's teacher, Abdullah Al-Ghumari, said:
"Attributing this narration to Abdur Razzaq is incorrect. It is not present in the Musannaf, Jami', or Tafsir of Abdur Razzaq, and this narration is entirely fabricated. It contains Sufi terminologies, and some present-day scholars from Shanqit have created its chain as 'Al-Munkadir from Jabir.'"
[Murshid Al-Hair to explain the fabrication of Hadith Jabir/Al-Radd, page 25]
The author of this fake "Musannaf" took self-made sentences from non-books like "Dalail Al-Khairat" and created chains for them.
[See Al-Radd, pages 28, 29]
There are clear lies in its chains, for example, in the self-made Hadith No. 2, it is written:
"Ibn Juraij: Informed me Al-Bara (may Allah be pleased with him) (although Al-Bara bin Azib (may Allah be pleased with him) died before the birth of Ibn Juraij)"
[See Al-Radd, page 31]
In summary, this is a robust refutation published by Arab scholars.
Note:
Some Barelvis present a witness for the fabricated Hadith of light from Imam Bayhaqi's book "Dalail Al-Nabuwwah" [483/5], but this witness is also false. In it, Bayhaqi's teacher Abu Al-Hasan Ali bin Ahmad bin Sima Al-Muqri' is of unknown status. Ibn Sima is mentioned in "Al-Muntakhab min Al-Siyaq li-Tarikh Naysabur" [1249] without any authentication. According to our knowledge, there is no verification of this Ibn Sima in any book.
