❖ Question:
Is revealing the secrets of marital intimacy an act inspired by Satan?
❖ Answer:
Yes, it is.
Revealing such private matters is strongly condemned in Islam and likened to a disgraceful, satanic act.
❖ The Hadith:
Asmā’ bint Yazīd (RA) narrates:
She was in the presence of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while men and women were also sitting there.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Perhaps a man mentions what he does with his wife, and perhaps a woman mentions what she does with her husband?”
The people remained silent.
I (Asmā’) said:
“Yes, by Allah, O Messenger of Allah! Indeed, they (men and women) do this.”
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Do not do that. Indeed, the likeness of such a person is like a devil who meets a female devil on the road and has intercourse with her while people are watching.”
❖ Explanation:
- This Hadith severely warns against disclosing intimate marital details, even in casual or boastful conversations.
- The Prophet ﷺ equated such behavior to open fornication between devils, illustrating its shameful and immoral nature.
- The analogy clearly shows that just as Satan has no shame, similarly those who reveal the sanctity of private relations lose all modesty and spiritual dignity.
Summary:
Islam teaches that the marital relationship is a sacred trust, and its privacy must be preserved.
Revealing what occurs between husband and wife — whether by men or women — is not only ethically indecent but spiritually corrupt, likened by the Prophet ﷺ to the actions of devils in public view.
