Question:
Is there any evidence for raising the hands (Rafʿ al-Yadayn) along with the Takbīr when performing Sajdah al-Tilāwah? Kindly clarify.
(Asked by Ṭāhir Naẓīr, Jalāl Bhalagan, Gujrānwālah)
Answer:
Al-ḥamdu lillāh, waṣ-ṣalātu was-salāmu ʿalā Rasūlillāh, Ammā Baʿd:
❖ Saying Takbīr at the Time of Sajdah al-Tilāwah
Saying Takbīr at the moment of performing Sajdah al-Tilāwah is established through explicit Hadith:
✦ Sunan Abī Dāwūd, Ḥadīth: 1413
✦ Al-Sunan al-Kubrā by al-Bayhaqī, Vol. 2, Page 325
✦ Muṣannaf ʿAbd al-Razzāq, Vol. 3, Page 343, Ḥadīth: 5911
The chains of these narrations, due to ʿAbdullāh al-ʿUmrī from Nāfiʿ, are Ḥasan (good).

❖ Evidence for Raising the Hands (Rafʿ al-Yadayn) With Takbīr
Since the Takbīr for Sajdah al-Tilāwah is established through authentic narrations, then in light of the following Hadith, Rafʿ al-Yadayn is also substantiated:
Hadith:
"And the Prophet ﷺ used to raise his hands with every Takbīr that he made before bowing (Rukūʿ), until his prayer was complete."
Source: Sunan Abī Dāwūd, Ḥadīth: 722 — This is an authentic Hadith.
Conclusion:
The stronger opinion (Rājiḥ) is that one should perform Rafʿ al-Yadayn along with the Takbīr when performing Sajdah al-Tilāwah, based on authentic narrations.
