When a person is buried, making Dua for them holds great importance. These post-burial Duas focus on asking Allah for forgiveness, comfort, and Paradise for the deceased. Here are some beneficial supplications that can be recited after burial:
اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لَهُ وَارْحَمْهُ وَعَافِهِ وَاعْفُ عَنْهُ، وَأَكْرِمْ نُزُلَهُ وَوَسِّعْ مَدْخَلَهُ
Translation:
“O Allah! Forgive him, have mercy on him, grant him well-being, pardon him, honour his place of rest, and make his entry spacious.”
اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْ قَبْرَهُ رَوْضَةً مِنْ رِيَاضِ الْجَنَّةِ وَلَا تَجْعَلْهَا حُفْرَةً مِنْ حُفَرِ النَّارِ
Translation:
“O Allah! Make his grave a garden from the gardens of Paradise and do not make it a pit from the pits of the Fire.”
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ وَفِتْنَتِهِ وَعَذَابِ جَهَنَّمَ
Translation:
“O Allah! I seek refuge in You from the torment of the grave and its trial, and from the punishment of Hellfire.”
اللَّهُمَّ أَمِّنْهُ مِنْ فَزَعِ يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ وَاجْعَلْهُ مِنْ أَهْلِ رَحْمَتِكَ وَمَغْفِرَتِكَ
Translation:
“O Allah! Grant him safety from the terror of the Day of Judgement and make him among the people of Your mercy and forgiveness.”
اللَّهُمَّ فَتْحُ لَهُ أَبْوَابَ جَنَّتِكَ وَفَتْحُ لَهُ بَابَ الرَّحْمَةِ
Translation:
“O Allah! Open for him the gates of Your Paradise and the gate of Your mercy.”
اللَّهُمَّ أَثْبِتْهُ فِي قَبْرِهِ وَفَارِقْهُ بِسَلاَمٍ وَاجْعَلْ قَبْرَهُ بَسِيطَةً وَمُنَوَّرَةً
Translation:
“O Allah! Keep him firm in his grave, grant his soul peace, and make his grave spacious and illuminated.”
اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْهُ فِي فِرْدَوْسِكَ الْأَعْلَى مَعَ النَّبِيِّينَ وَالصِّدِّيقِينَ وَالشُّهَدَاءِ وَالصَّالِحِينَ
Translation:
“O Allah! Grant him a place in Your highest Paradise with the Prophets, the truthful, the martyrs, and the righteous.”
اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْهُ مِنْ أَهْلِ جَنَّتِكَ الَّذِينَ يَشْمَئِزُّونَ مِنْ رِيحِهَا وَيَجْنَوْنَ فِيهَا
Translation:
“O Allah! Make him among the people of Your Paradise who enjoy its fragrance and reap its blessings.”
اللَّهُمَّ اجْنِبْهُ فِتَنَ الدُّنْيَا وَفِتَنَ قَبْرِهِ وَفِتَنَ الْمَلَكَيْنِ
Translation:
“O Allah! Save him from the trials of this world, the trials of the grave, and the trials of the two angels.”
اللَّهُمَّ رَاحَتُهُ فِي قَبْرِهِ وَجَنَّتُهُ فِي آخِرَتِهِ
Translation:
“O Allah! Grant him peace in his grave and Paradise in his Hereafter.”

④ Dua for Safety on the Day of Judgement
اللَّهُمَّ أَمِّنْهُ مِنْ فَزَعِ يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ وَاجْعَلْهُ مِنْ أَهْلِ رَحْمَتِكَ وَمَغْفِرَتِكَ
Translation:

⑤ Dua for Opening the Gates of Paradise
اللَّهُمَّ فَتْحُ لَهُ أَبْوَابَ جَنَّتِكَ وَفَتْحُ لَهُ بَابَ الرَّحْمَةِ
Translation:
“O Allah! Open for him the gates of Your Paradise and the gate of Your mercy.”
⑥ Dua for Comfort and Peace in the Grave
اللَّهُمَّ أَثْبِتْهُ فِي قَبْرِهِ وَفَارِقْهُ بِسَلاَمٍ وَاجْعَلْ قَبْرَهُ بَسِيطَةً وَمُنَوَّرَةً
Translation:

⑦ Dua for a Place in Jannat al-Firdaws
اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْهُ فِي فِرْدَوْسِكَ الْأَعْلَى مَعَ النَّبِيِّينَ وَالصِّدِّيقِينَ وَالشُّهَدَاءِ وَالصَّالِحِينَ
Translation:
