Dream Interpretation: Seeing Prophet Nūḥ (عليه السلام) in a Dream

Source: Aḥkām wa Masāʾil in the Light of Qur’an and Hadith, Vol. 1, p. 558

Question:
Previously, I had asked you for a dream interpretation, which — al-ḥamdu lillāh — proved true, as Allah blessed me with a son.

Now, my respected father has seen Prophet Nūḥ عليه السلام in a dream. The vision was as follows:

“I, along with our esteemed teacher Mawlānā ʿAbd al-Raḥmān, Secretary of Hafizabad, were seated in Hafizabad. A very handsome and tall man came to us. Our esteemed teacher asked me: ‘Who is this?’ I replied: ‘This is Prophet Nūḥ عليه السلام.’ My teacher then confirmed, saying: ‘Indeed, this is Prophet Nūḥ عليه السلام.’”

Kindly explain the interpretation of this dream in the light of Qur’an and Hadith.

Answer:
Al-ḥamdu lillāh, waṣ-ṣalātu was-salāmu ʿalā Rasūlillāh, ammā baʿd!

Your respected father (ḥafiẓahullāh) is either presently engaged in an important religious service or intends to undertake one. Along this path, obstacles may arise from both close ones and outsiders.

However, ultimately, success and triumph will belong to your respected father and his companions — in shāʾ Allāh, Subḥānahu wa Taʿālā.

Hādhā mā ʿindī wallāhu aʿlam bis-ṣawāb.
