Dream Interpretation: Seeing One’s Deceased Parents in Light of Qur’an and Hadith

Question:
My mother passed away about three years ago, and about one and a half years after her, my father also passed away. I have seen the same dream three times at intervals:

In our large room where my mother used to live, my late mother is lying on one side and my late father on the other. I and my family members sit near them, talking to them, but they do not reply. They only eat food and then lie down again.

Please explain the interpretation of this dream in the light of Qur’an and Hadith so that my heart may find peace.

Answer:
Al-ḥamdu lillāh, waṣ-ṣalātu was-salāmu ʿalā Rasūlillāh, ammā baʿd!

From your dream, the following indications can be understood:

❀ Give charity on behalf of your parents.
❀ Continue making duʿāʾ and istighfār for them.
❀ If possible, establish some form of ṣadaqah jāriyah (ongoing charity) for them, so that their ranks may be elevated.

Additionally, this dream also hints that:

❀ If your wife’s parents are alive, seek to please them.
❀ And if they too have passed away, then also make duʿāʾ, istighfār, and charity on their behalf.

Hādhā mā ʿindī wallāhu aʿlam bis-ṣawāb.
