❖ Does Laughing Break Wudu Outside of Prayer?
Source: Fatawa Amun Puri by Shaykh Ghulam Mustafa Zaheer Amun Puri
❀ Question:
Does laughing break wudu when one is not in prayer?
❀ Answer:
Laughing does not break wudu, whether inside or outside of prayer. However, if one laughs loudly (qahqahah) during prayer, the prayer becomes invalid, but the wudu remains intact.
❀ Imam Ibn al-Mundhir رحمه الله (d. 319H) said:
أجمعوا على أن الصحك فى غير الصلاة لا ينقص طهارة، ولا يوجب وضوء
“The scholars have reached consensus that laughing outside of prayer does not invalidate purity, nor does it necessitate wudu.”
