Written by: Imran Ayub Lahori
❖ Principle
The blood money (diyah) of a murdered person is to be distributed among his heirs according to their lawful shares.
❖ Evidence
Narrated by ʿAmr bin Shuʿaib, from his father, from his grandfather:
إن الـعـقـل ميراث بين ورثة القتيل على قرابتهم فما فضل فللعصبة
“Indeed, the blood money is an inheritance between the heirs of the murdered person according to their kinship, and whatever remains goes to the ʿaṣabah relatives.”
