Disposing of the Property of an Incompetent Person

Author: Dr. Muhammad Zia-ur-Rehman Azmi (رحمه الله)

Hajr (legally prohibiting someone from managing their wealth or property due to insanity, mental deficiency, or minority) and disposing of the property of an incompetent person:
The property designated by the government for the assistance of the disabled must only be used for their specific needs and welfare. The guardians are responsible for ensuring that this property is used exclusively for its intended purpose. It is not permissible to seize this property or abandon its intended use. However, if the father is in need, it is permissible for him to take a reasonable amount, in a manner that does not cause harm to the disabled person.
