❖ Deceit and Oppression Against Subordinates

Miqdam bin Ma‘dikarib (RA) narrated: The Prophet ﷺ said:

"Whoever is entrusted by Allah with the responsibility of a people and dies deceiving them, Paradise is forbidden for him. If he does not seek their well-being, he shall not enter Paradise with them."
[Bukhari: 7150; Muslim: 142]

Aisha (RA) narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said:

"O Allah, whoever is appointed over the affairs of my Ummah and treats them harshly, then treat him harshly. But if he deals with them gently, then be gentle with him."
[Muslim: 1828]

Ka‘b bin ‘Ujrah (RA) narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said:

"After me, there will be corrupt and oppressive rulers. Whoever affirms their lies and supports their oppression is not of me, nor am I of him, and he shall not come near my fountain (al-Kawthar). But whoever does not affirm their lies and does not support their oppression, he is of me and I am of him, and he shall come to me at the fountain."
[Tirmidhi: 614; Nasa’i: 4207]

Abu Hurairah (RA) narrated:

"You people will be eager for leadership, but on the Day of Judgment, it will be a cause of humiliation."
[Bukhari: 7148]

❖ The Three Types of Judges

◈ The Prophet ﷺ said:

"There are three types of judges:
① One will enter Paradise,
② Two will enter Hell.
– The one who knew the truth and judged accordingly is in Paradise.
– The one who knew the truth but judged contrary to it is in Hell.
– The one who judged without knowledge is also in Hell."

[Abu Dawood: 3573; Ibn Majah: 2315 | Al-Albani: Sahih | Zubair Ali Zai: Weak chain]

❖ The Deceitful Will Be Exposed

Abu Sa‘id Al-Khudri (RA):
"Every deceiver will have a flag on the Day of Judgment. The extent of his deceit will determine how high his flag is raised. Beware! There is no greater deceiver than the one who deceives his subjects."
[Muslim: 1738]

❖ Rebellion Against the Muslim Ruler

Abu Hurairah (RA):
"Whoever obeys the leader has obeyed me, and whoever disobeys him has disobeyed me. The Imam is a shield; fighting is done behind him, and protection is sought through him."
[Bukhari: 2957; Muslim: 1835]

◈ He also narrated:

"Whoever withdraws from obedience to the Imam and separates from the community, and dies in that state, his death is that of ignorance. Whoever fights under a blind banner—out of tribalism, anger, or nationalism—and dies in that state, his death is that of ignorance. Whoever raises a sword against my Ummah, killing both the righteous and the wicked, not sparing the believer or the one under covenant, then he is not of me, and I am not of him."
[Muslim: 1848]

❖ Begging Without Need

Begging without genuine need—especially through deceit or fraud—is forbidden.

◈ The Prophet ﷺ said:

"Whoever continues to ask (beg) until he dies, he will meet Allah with no flesh on his face."
[Bukhari: 1474; Muslim: 1040]

Sahl bin Hanzalah (RA):
"Whoever asks while being self-sufficient is collecting embers of Hell."
When asked about the definition of sufficiency, the Prophet ﷺ said:
"He who has enough for his lunch and dinner is considered self-sufficient."
[Abu Dawood: 1629]

❖ Taking a Loan Without Intention to Repay

◈ The Prophet ﷺ said:

"Glory be to Allah! How strict is Allah regarding debt. By Him in Whose Hand is my soul, if a man is killed in the cause of Allah, then brought back to life, then killed again, then brought back and killed again—if he is in debt, he shall not enter Paradise until it is paid off."
[Nasa’i: 4688]

❖ Accusing Chaste Women Falsely

◈ Allah says:

إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَرْمُونَ الْمُحْصَنَاتِ...
"Indeed, those who accuse chaste, unaware, believing women are cursed in this world and the Hereafter, and for them is a great punishment."
[An-Nur: 23]

وَالَّذِينَ يَرْمُونَ الْمُحْصَنَاتِ...

"Those who accuse chaste women of adultery and do not bring four witnesses, flog them with 80 lashes and never accept their testimony again. They are indeed transgressors."
[An-Nur: 4]

Abu Hurairah (RA):
"Whoever accuses his slave or maid of adultery will face the prescribed punishment on the Day of Judgment, unless the accusation was true."
[Bukhari: 6858; Muslim: 1660]

❖ Withholding a Laborer’s Wage

Abu Hurairah (RA) narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said:

"Allah says: Three types of people I will dispute with on the Day of Judgment:
① The one who breaks a covenant made in My Name,
② The one who sells a free man and eats the price,
③ The one who hires a laborer, takes full work from him but does not pay his wage."

[Bukhari: 2227]

⚠️ Common injustices in Muslim societies include:

– Delaying agreed wages
– Reducing promised payment
– Forcing labor in unreasonable hours

All of this is a severe form of oppression, and on the Day of Judgment, the oppressed will be granted their right from the oppressor.
