Is it correct to wear the Ihram for Umrah from Masjid Aisha (Miqaat at Tan’eem)?
My parents are coming to Saudi Arabia on a tourist visa. I have arranged their accommodation in Makkah. They will travel directly from Jeddah Airport to Makkah. They wish to perform Umrah two or three days after arrival. Should they wear the Ihram from Pakistan and perform Umrah immediately? Or can they arrive here, stay for three days, and then wear the Ihram from Masjid Aisha to perform Umrah?
Praise be to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah.
According to the opinion of the scholars, a person traveling to Makkah should make the intention for Umrah and wear the Ihram before entering Makkah. Based on this:
◈ Your parents should wear the Ihram for Umrah from Pakistan before departure.
◈ Upon arrival in Makkah, they may rest for one or two days if they wish.
◈ They can then perform Umrah afterwards.
This method is considered better and more virtuous.
This is what I hold to be correct, and Allah knows best.
