For those who deliberately disobey Allah and His Messenger ﷺ: remember that adopting any act in religion contrary to the commands of Allah and His Messenger ﷺ is a grave crime, and it may invite the punishment of Allah. Such people knowingly alter the religion to suit their desires, self-made ideologies, and worldly interests.
Allah ﷻ says in the Qur’an:
"وَمَن يَعْصِ اللَّـهَ وَرَسُولَهُ وَيَتَعَدَّ حُدُودَهُ يُدْخِلْهُ نَارًا خَالِدًا فِيهَا وَلَهُ عَذَابٌ مُّهِينٌ" (An-Nisa: 14)
Translation: “And whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger and transgresses His limits – He will admit him to a Fire to abide eternally therein, and he will have a humiliating punishment.”
Explanation:
Those who deliberately disobey will face Allah’s punishment. Such acts not only dishonour the religion but also lead to torment in the Hereafter.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
"مَن أَحْدَثَ فِي أَمْرِنَا هَذَا مَا لَيْسَ مِنْهُ فَهُوَ رَدٌّ" (Bukhari, Muslim)
Translation: “Whoever introduces into our matter something that is not from it, it will be rejected.”
Explanation:
Knowingly practicing innovation is an act of disobedience to Allah and His Messenger ﷺ. Innovators abandon the Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ and the way of the Companions (رضي الله عنهم), and such deeds are rejected.
Allah ﷻ says:
"وَمَا آتَاكُمُ الرَّسُولُ فَخُذُوهُ وَمَا نَهَاكُمْ عَنْهُ فَانْتَهُوا" (Al-Hashr: 7)
Translation: “Whatever the Messenger gives you – take it; and whatever he forbids you from – refrain from it.”
Explanation:
Ignoring or deliberately deviating from the Messenger’s ﷺ guidance is against Allah’s pleasure. Acting contrary to Allah’s command is an insult to the religion, with severe consequences in both this world and the Hereafter.
Allah ﷻ says:
"وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ اتَّقُوا۟ رَبَّكُمْۚ- سَارِعُوا۟ إِلَىٰ مَغْفِرَتِ رَبِّكُمْ وَجَنَّةٍ" (Al-Kahf: 103-104)
Translation: “And when it is said to them, ‘Fear your Lord,’ they show arrogance and stubbornness.”
Explanation:
Rejecting Allah’s commands out of pride and obstinacy is a dangerous act. Deliberate disobedience reflects heedlessness and following baseless reasoning.
The door of repentance is always open. Whoever admits his mistakes and turns back to Allah, Allah ﷻ accepts his repentance and forgives him.
"إِنَّ اللَّـهَ يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ جَمِيعًا إِنَّهُ هُوَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ" (Az-Zumar: 53)
Explanation:
If a person commits a sin or introduces an innovation knowingly, he can still turn to Allah for forgiveness. Through sincere repentance, Allah’s pleasure can be attained, and His wrath avoided.
❶ Those who deliberately disobey will face Allah’s punishment.
❷ Innovation (Bid‘ah) is a serious crime in religion.
❸ Rejecting Allah’s commands out of arrogance leads to His anger.
❹ The door of repentance remains open, and turning back earns Allah’s pleasure.
We must correct our actions, follow Allah’s commands, and adhere to the Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ so that we may attain Allah’s pleasure and salvation in the Hereafter.
May Allah guide us, protect us from disobedience, and keep us steadfast on His path. Ameen.
