“And perform Tawaf around the Ancient House (the Kaaba).”
[Al-Hajj: 22:29]
The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said:
“Whoever performs Tawaf around the Kaaba and prays two rak'ahs, it is as if he has freed a slave.”
[Ibn Majah: 2956, Sahih]
During the first Tawaf, keep the right shoulder exposed (Idtiba). Cover the shoulder after completing the Tawaf. Start each circuit by kissing or touching the Hajar al-Aswad (Black Stone), or gesture towards it if unable. All methods carry equal reward. Complete seven circuits, beginning and ending at the Black Stone. It is forbidden to push or jostle to kiss the Black Stone.
Supplication at the Black Stone in Each Circuit:
بسم الله الله أكبر
“In the name of Allah, Allah is the Greatest.”
[Musnad Ahmad: 2/14]
The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said:
“The Black Stone is a stone from Paradise; it was originally white, but the sins of the people have turned it black. Whoever kisses it will find it a witness for their faith on the Day of Judgment.”
[Ibn Majah: 2944, Sahih]
During the first three circuits, walk briskly (Raml), while the remaining four circuits should be completed at a normal pace. Women do not perform Raml.

If possible, touch the Rukn Yamani during each circuit, but do not kiss it. If the area is crowded, do not gesture or kiss the hand. Recite the following supplication between the Rukn Yamani and the Black Stone:
رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ
“Our Lord, grant us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.”

➋ Performing Wudu (ablution) is not mandatory for Sa’i, but it is better to be in a state of Wudu.
➌ Sa’i can be performed using a wheelchair or other means of transport if necessary, similar to Tawaf.
➍ There is no harm if there is a delay between Tawaf and Sa’i due to a valid reason.
➎ In case of doubt regarding the number of rounds, base your count on certainty (the lesser number).
➏ Keep the shoulder covered during Sa’i.
➐ Elderly, sick, or weak individuals are not required to jog between the green markers. [Sahih Ibn Khuzaymah: 2770]

Acceptance of Prayers During Hajj and Umrah
It is commonly believed that the first sight of the Kaaba guarantees the acceptance of any prayer, but this belief is not specifically validated. Instead, every prayer made in the sacred precincts of Allah’s House (Baitullah) is accepted.
“The one striving in Allah’s path, the pilgrim, and the one performing Umrah are Allah’s guests. He called them, and they responded, and they asked of Him, and He granted them.”

Allah Almighty commands:
“And perform Tawaf around the Ancient House (the Kaaba).”
[Al-Hajj: 22:29]
The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said:
“Whoever performs Tawaf around the Kaaba and prays two rak'ahs, it is as if he has freed a slave.”

Rukn Yamani
The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said:“Touching the Rukn Yamani and the Black Stone wipes away sins.”
[Tirmidhi: 959; Nasai: 2919, Sahih]
If possible, touch the Rukn Yamani during each circuit, but do not kiss it. If the area is crowded, do not gesture or kiss the hand. Recite the following supplication between the Rukn Yamani and the Black Stone:
رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ

“And take the Maqam of Ibrahim as a place of prayer.” [Al-Baqarah: 2:125]
Pray two rak’ahs. If space is limited near the Maqam, pray anywhere in Masjid Al-Haram. Remember, there is no prohibition against praying in the Haram at any time. [Tirmidhi: 94/2]
Recite Surah Al-Kafirun after Surah Al-Fatiha in the first rak’ah, and Surah Al-Ikhlas in the second.
Drinking Zamzam Water
After offering the two rak’ahs, drink plenty of Zamzam water and pour some over the head. [Musnad Ahmad: 12/72] You can drink Zamzam from any of the water coolers in the Haram. There is no specific supplication for drinking Zamzam, but the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said:
“The purpose for which Zamzam is drunk will be fulfilled.”
[Sahih Ibn Majah: 3062]
Second Istilam of the Black Stone:
Before beginning the Sa’i (ritual walk) between Safa and Marwah, perform another Istilam of the Black Stone. [Muslim, Book of Hajj: 1218]By following these guidelines, you can perform your Umrah according to the teachings of the Quran and Hadith, ensuring it is in line with the Sunnah of the Prophet
Sa'i Between Safa and Marwah
Performing Sa’i between Safa and Marwah involves completing seven rounds, which is an essential part of Umrah.
“Sa’i has been prescribed for you, so perform Sa’i.” [Sahih Ibn Khuzaymah: 2765]
Starting from Safa
While ascending Safa, recite:إِنَّ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةَ مِن شَعَائِرِ اللَّهِ، أَبْدَأُ بِمَا بَدَأَ اللَّهُ بِهِ
“Indeed, Safa and Marwah are among the symbols of Allah. I begin with what Allah began with.” [Muslim, Book of Hajj: 1218]
Then, face the Kaaba, raise both hands, and say "Allahu Akbar" three times, followed by this supplication:
لا إله إلا الله وحده لا شريك له، له الملك وله الحمد، وهو على كل شيء قدير، لا إله إلا الله وحده، أنجز وعده، ونصر عبده، وهزم الأحزاب وحده
“There is no deity but Allah alone, with no partner. His is the dominion, and to Him belongs all praise, and He has power over all things. There is no deity but Allah alone. He fulfilled His promise, supported His servant, and defeated the allied forces alone.” [Muslim, Book of Hajj: 1208]
Note:
While standing on Safa, continue making further supplications with raised hands.
Proceeding from Safa to Marwah
As you move from Safa to Marwah, walk along the right path. Men should lightly jog between the two green markers, while women are not required to do so.Supplication During Sa’i
While descending from Safa and proceeding toward Marwah, recite:رب اغفر وارحم إنك أنت الأعز الأكرم
“O my Lord, forgive and have mercy. Indeed, You are the Most Honorable and Most Generous.” [Ibn Abi Shaybah 15562]
Note:
During Sa’i, engage in the remembrance of Allah, supplications, and prayers, as the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said:
“Sa’i between Safa and Marwah has been established to remember Allah.” [Sahih Ibn Khuzaymah: 2738]
Reaching Marwah
Upon reaching Marwah, recite the same supplications as you did at Safa, then return to Safa and continue in this manner.Key Points About Sa'i
➊ Each trip from Safa to Marwah is one round, and each trip from Marwah to Safa is another round. The seventh round ends at Marwah.➋ Performing Wudu (ablution) is not mandatory for Sa’i, but it is better to be in a state of Wudu.
Shaving or Trimming Hair
After completing the seventh round at Marwah, men should either shave or trim their hair. Shaving is more virtuous. Women should cut a small portion of their hair themselves, as shaving is not permissible for them. [Sahih Bukhari 1727; Abu Dawood 1985]This concludes the Umrah.
Supplication When Exiting Masjid Al-Haram
When leaving Masjid Al-Haram, recite:اللهم إني أسألك من فضلك
“O Allah, I ask You for Your bounty.” [Sahih Muslim 713]
Returning to Normal Attire
After returning to your hotel or residence, remove your Ihram and change into regular clothing. Continue performing all the five daily prayers in congregation in the Haram, perform as many Tawaf as possible, engage in remembrance of Allah, and pray for yourself, your family, and your friends for both worldly and Hereafter matters.Visiting Sacred Sites in Makkah

Returning to Makkah
Upon returning from Madinah to Makkah, the vehicle usually stops at Dhul-Hulaifa, which is about six to seven miles from Madinah. This location is the Miqat, also known as “Bir Ali.” Here, perform ghusl (ritual washing) and ablution, wear the Ihram, and recite the Talbiyah as you head to Makkah to perform Umrah.Farewell Tawaf
The last act related to Hajj and Umrah is the Tawaf Al-Wada', which symbolizes your farewell visit to the House of Allah (Baitullah). It is required for those performing Hajj and Umrah. [Sahih Bukhari: 236]- No need to wear Ihram for this Tawaf, and there is no requirement for Raml (brisk walking) or Idtiba (exposing the right shoulder).
- There is also no need to perform Sa’i between Safa and Marwah with this Tawaf.
