The maid who is hired for work on wages — engaging in sexual intercourse with her is haram (forbidden), as this constitutes zina (fornication), which is a major sin clearly prohibited in Islamic law.
The only woman with whom physical intimacy has been permitted in Shariah, apart from the lawful wife, is a female slave (i.e., a woman who has been lawfully acquired as a slave according to the rulings of Shariah).
