Can Satan come to us in our dreams?
Yes, Satan can occasionally appear in people's dreams.
It is narrated from Sayyidunā Jābir (may Allah be pleased with him) that he reported from the Noble Prophet ﷺ that a Bedouin came to the Prophet ﷺ and said:
"I see in my dream that my head is cut off and I am chasing it."
The Noble Prophet ﷺ rebuked him and said:
**
لَا تُخْبِرْ بِتَلَعُّبِ الشَّيْطَانِ بِكَ فِي الْمَنَامِ
**
"Do not inform (others) about how Satan plays with you in your dream."
[Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim, Kitāb al-Ruʾyā, Ḥadīth No. 2268]
This Hadith clearly indicates that Satan can manipulate and disturb people in their dreams, presenting frightening or nonsensical visions. Such dreams are not from Allah, but from Satan, intended to cause confusion or fear.
✔ Summary:
Yes, Satan can appear in dreams and play tricks on individuals. The Prophet ﷺ discouraged narrating such dreams, as they are from Satan’s mischief, not divine inspiration or meaningful visions.
