Question:
If an Imam holds the belief that the Noble Prophet ﷺ is light (nūr) and not human (bashar), possesses knowledge of the unseen, can be called upon for help, and is the owner of benefit and harm—can one perform prayer behind such an Imam?
Answer:
Holding such beliefs is misguidance.
It is not permissible to perform prayer behind an Imam who holds such beliefs.
It is essential that the Imam holds correct beliefs (ṣaḥīḥ al-‘aqīdah).
