❖ Ruling on Women Wearing Fashionable or Specific Clothing for Their Husbands ❖
Source: Ahkam wa Masail in the Light of the Qur’an and Hadith, Volume 01, Page 512
Is it permissible for a woman to dress fashionably for her husband?
Can she wear clothes such as lehenga, ghaghra, etc., within the boundaries of hijab, provided that the outfit neither exposes awrah nor reflects immodest fashion?
الحمد لله، والصلاة والسلام علىٰ رسول الله، أما بعد:
◈ A woman may beautify herself for her husband using fragrance, adornment, and other forms of permissible beautification, provided nothing unlawful is involved in the process.
◈ In such cases, she must remain fully veiled and separate from all others besides her husband.
◈ Regarding clothing:
If a particular outfit meets the Islamic conditions for modest dress, then it is permissible for a woman to wear it.
These conditions include:
✔ The garment must not be transparent or tight.
✔ It must not imitate the dress of non-Muslims or men.
✔ It must not incite temptation.
✔ It should be worn only in front of the husband, if it is designed for adornment.
