If a man divorces his pregnant wife and then dies, when can the woman remarry?
Whether a pregnant woman is divorced or her husband passes away, her ʿiddah (waiting period) in both cases is until the delivery of the child.
She may remarry after childbirth.
﴿وَأُولَاتُ الْأَحْمَالِ أَجَلُهُنَّ أَنْ يَضَعْنَ حَمْلَهُنَّ﴾
(Surah at-Ṭalāq, 65:4)
“And for those who are pregnant, their term is until they deliver their burden.”
✔ A pregnant woman’s ʿiddah ends upon childbirth, whether the separation occurred due to divorce or the husband's death.
✔ After delivery, she is permitted to remarry.
