❖ Question:
Can a Hindu wash the clothes of a Muslim?
❖ Answer:
Yes, a Hindu may wash the clothes of a Muslim, and there is no harm in this.
✿ Evidence from Hadith
It is authentically reported that a Jewish boy used to serve the Prophet ﷺ:
(Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī, Kitāb al-Janaʾiz, Bāb idhā aslama al-ṣabī fa-māta hal yuṣallā ʿalayh, ḥadīth 1356)
✿ Explanation
This ḥadīth shows that it is permissible for a Muslim to benefit from the services of a non-Muslim. Therefore, if a Hindu washes the clothes of a Muslim, it is completely valid and permissible in Islam.

A Muslim may have his clothes washed by a Hindu (or any non-Muslim), and there is no prohibition in this, as taking service from non-Muslims is established from the Sunnah.
