Reciting Sūrat al-Fātiḥah: Before, With, or After the Imam – Which is Preferable?

Among the three ways of reciting Sūrat al-Fātiḥah behind the imam —
- Before the imam,
- With the imam,
- After the imam,

Reciting Sūrat al-Fātiḥah in prayer is obligatory. However, regarding the exact timing of the follower’s recitation behind the imam — whether before him, along with him, or after him —
There is no explicit text (clear Qur’ānic verse or authentic ḥadīth) that declares any one of these three methods to be superior over the others.Thus, the matter remains flexible.
