Question:

What is said regarding al-Miʿrāj?

Answer:

It is the unanimous and agreed-upon belief of Ahl al-Sunnah wa’l-Jamāʿah that Allah ﷻ took the Prophet ﷺ on a journey through the seven heavens in a state of full consciousness. This journey, known as al-Miʿrāj, was a real and miraculous event of the Prophet ﷺ. The Qur’an, mutawātir aḥādīth, and the consensus of the Ummah are all evidences for this.

ʿAllāmah Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله (d. 751H) said:
قد تواترت الأحاديث الصحيحة التى أجمعت الأمة على صحتها وقبولها بأن النبى صلى الله عليه وسلم عرج به إلى ربه.

"Authentic aḥādīth, upon whose authenticity and acceptance the Ummah has unanimously agreed, have reached the level of tawātur affirming that the Prophet ﷺ was taken up to his Lord in the Miʿrāj."
(Tahdhīb al-Sunan: 13/32)
